8 Days 7 Nights Tsavo West National Park - Amboseli National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve - Lake Naivasha - Tsavo East National Park
Day 1. Mombasa - Tsavo West National Park
We depart from our hotel on the inland journey via the Mombasa - Nairobi highway. The journey takes us to the Tsavo West National Park. After check-in, we will freshen up and enjoy a buffet lunch. We relax and adjust to the "jungle environment" awaiting the afternoon drive when the wild game comes alive. We will commence game viewing on entry. We will venture into the Rhino Sanctuary and drive through the park looking out for game at the scenery and marveling at the splendor that the African sunset immerses the jungle in. We later retire to our base for meals and overnight.
Day 2. Tsavo West National Park - Amboseli National Park
We leave for an early pre-breakfast game and scenery viewing drive. Sunrise catches us with the splendor of the wild unfolds in the freshness and beauty of the morning. We watch as the grazers and hunters move on unperturbed by our presence. We will head to the Mzima Springs where we view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and a variety of bird species. The greenery surrounding the springs is a welcome contrast to the harsh terrain that forms the bulk of Tsavo West National Park.
We will be back to our base for breakfast before joining our convoy on the onward journey to the Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. We will freshen up, enjoy our buffet lunch and while it away until late afternoon when we set out to explore the Amboseli National Park. Afternoon game viewing drive in this open park. It is a leisurely activity with game easily seen and with the bulk of Kilimanjaro providing the back-drop for photography. Clouds may open up and the sight of the snow peaked Kilimanjaro will leave us mesmerized. Dinner and overnight at our base.
Day 3. Amboseli National Park - Nairobi
We will be early again! The sunrise and emergence of the mountain peak from the cloud is dramatic. We will marvel at this scenario as we enjoy our breakfast. We will depart the park with an en-route exit game viewing drive; bump it out to rejoin the Nairobi - Mombasa highway where our vehicle awaits us for our journey to Nairobi. Proceed to Nairobi, check in at our city hotel. After lunch, proceed for a city tour of Nairobi with a visit to the parliament building, city market and view point before continuing to the suburbs for a visit to the giraffe center, Kazuri beads factory and the Karen Blixen Museum. We will stop over at the Carnivore for a memorable barbeque dinner, later returning to our hotel for overnight.
Day 4. Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve
For the more adventurous, budget camping safari option for the Masai Mara National Reserve and Lake Nakuru National Park is available. The drive to the Masai Mara takes us through the Central highlands of the country with views of coffee, tea and subsistence crop plantations. There will be stopovers to marvel at the Great Rift Valley escarpment and other scenic attractions. We will proceed through Masai country with lunch en-route to arrive at our Masai Mara base in the late afternoon. Game viewing will be en-route base. Meals and overnight at our base.
Day 5. Masai Mara National Park
Game viewing extravaganza! Whatever pundits say, the Masai Mara National Park eco-system remains the single most exciting wildlife destination in the world. The reserve is home to the highest concentration of wild animals per sq. km. than any other park in the region. The scenic appeal of this tree studded typical savannah, its modest climate and diversity of wild life species makes the reserve an ideal one-stop shop for game viewing. We spend the day exploring this wild life haven. Our mid-day meals will either be picnics or at camp.Dinner and overnight will be at our game drive camp.
Day 6 Masai Mara National Park - Lake Naivasha
Last day at Masai Mara National Park. We will start at dawn to catch the sunrise and early hunters and grazers. We return to our base for breakfast. A mid-morning wrap-up drive will bring us back for an early lunch. We depart Masai Mara National Park for the Lake Naivasha. A casual afternoon will be spent exploring or relaxing at the lake shores. Meals and afternoon at your lake Naivasha lodge.
Day 7. Lake Naivasha - Tsavo East National Park
The day starts with a nature cum bird walk in naturally beautiful scenery at the shores of Lake Naivasha. An optional boat ride to the Crescent Island to see small game in idyllic natural settings will follow. We then leave for Tsavo East and once we arrive, we commence game viewing drives on entry in the direction of our accommodation camp. After check-in, we will freshen up and enjoy a buffet lunch. We relax and adjust to the "jungle environment" awaiting the late afternoon drive when the wild game comes alive. We drive through the park looking out for game at the scenery and marveling at the splendor that the African sunset immerses the jungle in. Our expert safari driver guide takes us through the tracks, returning us to our camps for our evening meals and overnight.
Day 8 Tsavo East - Mombasa
Dawn finds us ready for our early morning game viewing drive. Tsavo is expansive and open. We will explore this vastness in a relaxed style with more time spent at our sightings. We return to your base and check out. A last lap of honour will follow in your optional post-breakfast game drive followed by a long lunch and a relaxed drive back to the Coast. We will be dropped off at your respective hotels.
